Last night was the annual Metropolitan Costume Institute Gala, one of the biggest nights in fashion. This year's Gala celebrated the opening of "Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty," an exhibition dedicated to the iconic work and legacy of Alexander McQueen. Many attendees, including Gisele Bundchen, Sarah Jessica Parker, Naomi Campbell, and Salma Hayek, honored the late Alexander McQueen by wearing his gowns.
We had so many favorites from the evening. We particularly enjoyed Diane Kruger in Jason Wu, Giselle Bundchen in Alexander McQueen, Dylan Lauren in Ralph Lauren, Gwyneth Paltrow in Stella McCartney, Emily Browning in Marc Jacobs, Zoe Saldana in Calvin Klein, Jennifer Lopez in Gucci, Brooklyn Decker in Michael Kors, Elizabeth Banks in Tommy Hilfiger, and Rachel Roy in her own design.

Diane von Furstenberg recently debuted her new Fall 2011 collection entitled “American Legends.” The sartorial legend herself, along with head designer Yvan Mispelaere, were inspired by the spirit of the Wild West which translated on the runway to wide-brimmed hats and fringe lined fabrics, even including cowboy boots and suede accents. Of course, the line featured DVF's signature feminine soignée in the form of gorgeous liquid sequined gowns, luscious fur accents, and updated prints for the new season.
